Color wash There are a few different types of light fixtures that can create a "wash," which is basically a blanket of colored light covering an entire area such as a wall and or ceiling.

Gobos Pronounced go bo. Circular stencils that are put over a light to project a design or pattern on a wall, dance floor, or tent top.  Popular gobo designs are monograms, dates, textures, patterns, or any other motifs. The complexity of the design will affect the gobo's cost -- a simple stencil can be stamped out of steel, while a more intricate design must be laser etched out of  glass that can withstand high heat (costing much more than a stamped stencil).

"Kinetic Lighting" A non technical term implying lighting produced using Color kinetic Led lighting fixtures by Philips. Hourglass Lighting uses a variety of lighting fixtures including a large inventory of Color kinetic products.

LED Short for light-emitting diodes, L.E.D. lights are currently popular because they use much less electricity and generate very little heat compared to conventional lighting fixtures.  LEDs are great for wall washes, color changes, centerpieces, even candles.  LED lights combine (RBG) red ,blue, and green to produce 16+million color possibilities.  All of the images on this web site were created using LED light fixtures.

LED Candles 

 Intelligent lighting Stage lighting that has automated or mechanical abilities beyond those of traditional, stationary (static) illumination. Intelligent fixtures such as Spots & Washes can be programmed via a DMX controller to project patterns, blended shades of color, and special effects.

Pin spot A focused beam of light that shines directly onto an object, like a  wedding cake, as a highlight effect.

Up lighting Architectural details can be highlighted through the strategic placement of lighting fixtures.
